Ninomatsu city is surrounded by the beautiful nature such as Adatadara mountain and Abukuma river, and still have a foundation of a castle town in the modern age. As a result of the street widening, this city is working on improving townscapes, revive historical resources, and creating methods for the management of town development for revitalization of the town. In 2001, they concluded a landscape agreement and organized the “Takeda Nezaki Machi Townscape Committee” to operate it. Also, they conducted townscape design consultation for buildings that would be rebuilt and carried out 119 consultations in total until 2013. In November 2014, a townscape was almost completed and received the Planning Design Award of the Urban Planning Society 2015 and the Urban Landscape Award Excellence Award.
